Analytics dashboard overview with page views, visitors, visit duration, traffic, and devices

Read the selected date range

Open Analytics from the correct site card. Choose Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Last 90 days; changing the range reloads the page for that period. The page labels its results Real time on refresh, while the summary on the main Dashboard remains a cached, not-real-time view.

Understand the overview metrics

Page Views and Visitors

Page Views counts loaded pages during the selected period. Visitors estimates distinct people. Compare them together: several views per visitor can indicate deeper browsing, but neither value alone proves a conversion.

Avg. Visit and Active Now

Avg. Visit formats the average visit duration and also shows bounce rate. Active Now reports active visitors from the last five minutes. Small sites can move between zero and a few active visitors quickly, so treat this as a momentary signal.

Traffic and Devices

Traffic charts daily page views across the selected range. Hovering a bar reveals that day’s view count. Devices groups measured traffic by device category and shows each category’s share of the measured total.

Analytics can be affected by consent choices, blocked tracking, bot filtering, time zones, and low sample sizes. Compare complete periods and use the same range when evaluating a change.

Read the breakdown lists

Top Pages

Top Pages ranks the pages with the most measured views. Homepage is shown for the root path. Use this list to identify entry points and content that deserves maintenance, not as a quality score by itself.

Traffic Sources

Traffic Sources ranks measured referrers. Direct or missing attribution can reduce the apparent value of a source, so combine referrer data with campaign links and other evidence.

Countries

Countries lists measured geographic codes and counts. Use the data for broad audience patterns; do not infer an individual visitor’s identity or intent from a country row.

Responsive and accessible interpretation

Metric cards display in two columns and expand to four on wider screens. Traffic and Devices stack before the trend chart spans more width, while Top Pages, Traffic Sources, and Countries move from one column to three on large screens.

The cards and ranked lists provide visible numeric text. The Traffic bar tooltip is a visual hover treatment, so do not use the chart alone for an accessible report; record the date and count in text or a separate data table when others need an exact alternative.

Use the labeled date-range selector with the keyboard and keep focus visible. Avoid using color alone to distinguish trends or device shares.

Common mistakes checklist

• Confirm the site and date range before comparing numbers.

• Do not compare cached site-card totals with a different Analytics range.

• Do not treat Page Views as Visitors or Active Now as the period total.

• Do not make decisions from a small sample without context.
